Our Mission

In today’s society, creative thought is no longer valued. Art programs in schools are the first programs to be cut, music and dance majors are scoffed at in universities, and the fact that the term “starving artist” has grown so popular speaks for itself. Without a positive emphasis on artistic expression, not only does creativity wane, but the presence of a community does also. If one considers the most economically thriving, viable places in cities, almost all of them started as a creative Mecca for brilliant artists and creative minds. When artists come into a community, people follow them. Once a community comes together, people can learn how to create together, solve problems together, learn together—the most beautiful phenomenon in the world.

This is a center for community and creativity. Local art students, free-lance designers, and professional artists would become members of the studio/workspace, allowing them to focus on their passions in a supportive, inspiring space. This studio would also be used for classes and group activities for children on certain days. The event space/venue would hold concerts and art galas every so often, showcasing local talent. Third parties could also rent it out for special private or public events. The café would serve locally grown, organic, and/or fairly traded foods, nourishing the mind as well as the spirit. These three aspects of the space aim to encourage conversation and imagination amongst visitors.
